CLEVELAND – June 17, 2013 – Quicken Loans Inc., the nation’s largest online home lender and country’s third largest mortgage lender, today announced it ranked #1 on the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s ‘Top Workplace’ list for the second year in a row.

Businesses were ranked solely on team member participation in an anonymous survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics, the Plain Dealer’s research partner. The survey focused on several aspects of a workplace, ranging from employee engagement to perks. Workplace Dynamics also considered how connected team members feel to the business.

“We focus a tremendous amount of time and energy on ensuring our team members are free to innovate and create without being stifled by traditional bureaucratic corporate culture,” said Jeff Perry, Vice President and Site Leader for Quicken Loans’ Cleveland office. “Our 450-plus downtown Cleveland team members drive the special culture that exists in our office through a balance of work and play while always keeping the client experience as their number one priority.”

The Cleveland Web Center, located in the M.K. Ferguson Building in Cleveland’s urban core, specializes in government-backed Veterans Affairs (VA) loans designed to facilitate home financing for active and retired military and their families.

Quicken Loans has developed the reputation of offering a fun and innovative workplace that encourages creativity and collaboration. Team members work in a unique, bright and colorful environment which includes TVs, video games, and an abundance of whiteboard space for brainstorming and idea generation. The Cleveland Web Center also includes a “Wall of Honor,” that displays pictures of Quicken Loans’ clients who have served our country.

Last year, the company unveiled an 11,000-square-foot expansion to support its continued growth and now occupies a total of 56,000 square feet in downtown Cleveland.   The Web Center has grown by more than 700 percent  since opening in 2006, including a 32 percent increase in team members just last year. Cleveland team members also remain active in their community, logging almost 400 volunteer hours in 2012.
